Our Story is rooted in God’s good news story revealed in Jesus Christ. That story is lived in and through the lives of the nearly 400 baptized followers of Jesus Christ who have made our congregation their community of faith. Our lives intersect God’s story and the story of the world in which we live. We are a growing congregation, committed to ministry and mission in our community and our world.
Our Mission Statement
Sharing Christ’s Love By Welcoming All, Loving All, and Serving All.
As we grow as committed, faithful individuals, God promises to use us as a community to change the world for the better!
Pastor Ron Qualley serves as our congregation’s Transition Pastor, he joined us on June 1, 2016. Many of us know Pastor Qualley from his service at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Fairfax and Clifton, VA, and from the work he did facilitating our Mission, Vision, and Values process last spring. Pastor Qualley is a visionary and an energetic pastoral leader who is eager to help our congregation continue to grow and thrive during the transition period before the arrival of our next regularly-called pastor.
The Reverend Ronald G. Qualley served for 46 years in parish ministry. He served Grace Lutheran Church in Miami Springs, Florida and Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Fairfax/Clifton, Virginia. He retired from parish ministry in early 2015 in order to increase his involvement in the Village of Hope ministry in Haiti, consult with pastors and congregations, and assist Gettysburg Seminary in their program to equip Lead Pastors of larger congregations. He and his wife, Sandi, have two children and three grandchildren and live in Fairfax.
Karen and her family are long-time members of Shepherd of the Hills and have been active in a variety of ministry teams over the years. Karen and her spouse, Bill, live in Haymarket with their four children.
Laura is a retired Spanish teacher and a native of North Dakota. She and her husband Jim have lived in Manassas for 40 years. They have two children who live in the metro area. Before coming to Shepherd of the Hills, Laura was an organist at St. Andrew Lutheran in Centreville for many years.
